Horizon Zero Dawn PC Patch Addresses Numerous Outstanding Issues
As PC gaming becomes more popular and cross-platform compatibility continues to be more and more popular, games that would have previously been thought to remain console exclusives are more frequently being made available on PC. Such has been the case at Sony, which has long been restrictive in keeping its first party games only on PlayStation consoles, but has broken this trend with Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn. These games though were originally meant for the PlayStation 4, meaning that there would always be issues in bridging to a new platform. Now, a new Horizon Zero Dawn PC patch has been released addressing these issues.
Guerilla Games recently released the patch notes for the latest Horizon Zero Dawn PC patch on their official blog. The patch mainly addresses several technical issues that the PC version of the game still exhibited, such as crashes from repeatedly hitting the Windows key or the LMB on the ESC button in the Benchmark Results. There are also some graphical improvements made for the game, which are new to the PC version given its potential for more powerful hardware to be utilized. Guerilla also points out that more updates are coming, albeit less frequently, saying:
As our team continues development on our upcoming title Horizon Forbidden West, we are shifting to less frequent updates for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC after this patch.”
This makes sense considering that Horizon Forbidden West is slated for a release some time this year, and with many employees likely working remotely, their time is rather precious. While the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn may have been somewhat rough for some, updates like these hopefully come as reassuring to players looking to fight robot dinosaurs in the wild.
