Hideo Kojima And Guillermo del Toro Confirmed For Game Awards, Death Stranding Incoming?
With The Game Awards 2017 mere days away now, speculation is at an all time high for those wondering which games will nab which awards, and whether or not there will be any new game content shown during the presentation. By putting a few puzzle pieces together, it appears that viewers may be treated to some new Death Stranding content. Yesterday it was revealed that Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro would be attending the event as a presenter. Earlier today it was revealed that Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima would also be following suit and attending the event, presenting as well. “We are so thrilled to announce our next presenter for Thursday night: Hideo Kojima! The legendary game director will once again appear at #TheGameAwards.” The official tweet from The Game Awards Twitter can be seen below:

Hideo Kojima has had an interesting history with The Game Awards. Back in 2015 the game director was “banned” from the event by Konami after nabbing multiple wins for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Just last year the director took the stage and gave viewers a look at Death Stranding, while at the same time introducing both Guillermo del Toro and actor Mads Mikkelsen as part of the star studded-cast. It is of course possible that no new Death Stranding content will be shown at The Game Awards 2017, though putting both del Toro and Kojima in the same place – and having them present at the same event, no less – sounds like a recipe for something amazing. Viewers will find out Thursday night when they tune in to The Game Awards 2017.
So, thoughts on the rather serendipitous appearance of both del Toro and Kojima? Do you expect new Death Stranding content to air during the event?
