Halo Infinite’s Holiday 2021 Launch Date Was Reportedly A Mistake

Earlier this month, 343 Industries made the apologetic announcement of Halo Infinite’s delay. The delay was relatively predictable given the impact of the current global pandemic coupled with the mixed reception of the gameplay reveal. If there was an ideal time for 343 Industries and team to reassess and recoup their progress, it would be now.

Having already announced a delayed release date slated for 2021, a new Amazon listing for Halo Infinite showed that the Halo community may have to wait a full year until they can get their hands on it. Posted with a cautionary disclaimer as “likely a typo,” Wario64 posted the Amazon listing. The page has since been changed, but you can see the original below:

This is a screenshot we took of the same Amazon listing page followed by a Twitter post by The Verge senior editor, Tom Warren, debunking the alleged Holiday 2021 window for Halo Infinite. As it stands, 343 Industries still plans on launching Halo Infinite in 2021, but there’s no official release date as of yet.

Either way, Halo Infinite isn’t coming to gamers this year. Though it’s unfortunate news for most fans, some folks may agree that they’d rather wait for a good game than a prematurely released one rife with bugs and errors. As fans of the Halo franchise, we can’t wait to see Halo Infinite when it’s ready.

What do you think about the Amazon listing? Do you think this was purposeful and the team had to backtrack? When do you expect Halo Infinite will actually launch?
