Halo: CE Makes Surprise PC Release For Master Chief Collection (VIDEO)

Halo: CE

Last year PC players were able to dip their toes into the Halo universe once more thanks to the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Following the addition of Halo Reach, the rest of the titles were promised to arrive at a later date beginning with Halo: CE Anniversary–the title that started it all. The game had plans to enter flight testing earlier this year, but now it seems the whole game has now become available in a surprise release.

A new post on Halo Waypoint reveals that the title has now released in the MCC, letting PC players switch between classic and modern visuals with the click of a button in addition to a variety of additional settings and features. The post also claims that players will be able to experience the game in native 60 FPS gameplay and comes with support for 4k UHD. Changes from the Xbox 360 version Halo: CE Anniversary include a new FOV slider,  the ability to swap between classic and revamped audio, mouse and keyboard input support, customizable key bindings, and more.

In celebration of the new update, the developers are also instituting a series of bug fixes and patches to help enhance the overall experience for fans. The game will also see new matchmaking options for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition as well as a Double XP Celebration until the 9th of March.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is currently available for PC and Xbox One, with releases of the franchise arriving one by one for the PC platform.
