This last year in the gaming industry has made it rather evident that cloud streaming of games will be an important part of the medium’s future. PlayStation 4 recently provided more library support and a cheaper barrier of entry for their game streaming service, and Xbox is looking to expand into cloud streaming with Project XCloud. An unexpected competitor made themselves known earlier this year when Google announced their Stadia cloud streaming service for games. For those eager to see how Google handles a gaming platform, the wait is nearly over as the Google Stadia release date for next month has been revealed.

Google recently shared a variety of new information about Google Stadia on their official blog, with the big focus being the Google Stadia release date. The release window was confirmed to be November of this year, but Google has now finalized November 19th as the first day Stadia will be available to play, albeit for a select sub-group of the platform’s users.

The November 19th launch will only be available for those who purchased the Google Stadia Founder’s Edition, or the Premium Editions that were made available subsequently after the Founder’s Edition. Those who purchased the Founder’s Edition will be among the first to receive to have the Google Stadia controller shipped to them, along with the earliest access to their 3 months of Stadia Pro, exclusive Stadia name and other features included with the bundle. Google confirmed these will be shipped in chronological order of those who purchased the Founder’s Edition, so the earliest fans can expect to have everything they need on November 19th starting at 9 A.M. Pacific Time. For the rest of us, we will just have to standia and wait for Stadia to arrive shortly thereafter.
