God of War: Kratos’ Biggest Adventure Yet Lies Ahead In Upcoming Game

Kratos' Biggest Adventure

The PlayStation 4 is gearing up for the eternal rageaholic Kratos’ newest adventure, God of War, which hits the system in only a month’s time. The game’s migration to the the Old Norse realm looks to present the most beautiful visuals and most dynamic combat of the series thus far, centering around wielding the magical axe Leviathan alongside Kratos’ son Atreus. It now appears that Kratos’ biggest adventure awaits players as well, as what we’ve seen up to this point has supposedly only scratched the surface.

A recent press demo for the game has encouraged said revelation from Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, who revealed details of his hands-on experience in a series of tweets. Of the two-and-a-half hours of Kratos’ biggest adventure played, Keighley states how evolved and enjoyably deep the world seemed, putting it in the same ballpark of Horizon: Zero Dawn in terms of sheer scope. This comparison is especially impressive as the demo was said to only encapsulate about 5% of the full game.

An epic scale for the new God of War seems pretty fitting considering how inclusive the game seems with ancient Scandinavian mythology. Speaking at last year’s PlayStation Experience, game director Cory Barlog confirmed the title’s approximate runtime of around 25-35 hours, making sure to note the much longer experience in store for players who attempt to complete everything. It seems we now have an idea of the colossal effort that will likely take when God of War releases for PlayStation 4 on April 20th.
