Fortnite Returns With New Map, Gameplay Changes In Leaked ‘Chapter 2’ Trailer (VIDEO)
Epic Games’ Fortnite accomplished the unthinkable over the last 24 hours and essentially “ended” their immensely-popular battle royale title. The decidedly epic proceedings tore away the game’s familiar map, characters, and even the big blue Battle Bus until a literal less-than-nothing black hole was the only visible figure that remained. Since then, fans around the world have been left in the dark about Fortnite’s future, with official social media channels and the game itself continuing a comprehensive online blackout.
Though science would argue black holes are a one-way trip, it looks like we can still expect the return of Fortnite relatively soon by the looks of a recently-leaked trailer. Revealed via Skin-Tracker, Fortnite will soon enter “Chapter 2” of its life cycle, the new footage introducing an entirely new map as well as a variety of updates like improved graphics, boat traversal, and items such as a set of fun-looking llama pogo sticks. Increased maneuverability also looks to be on the way, as players can be seen diving into water, fishing, and carrying injured teammates across the battlefield. Check out the leaked trailer below.
While this footage is presented in an unofficial capacity, everything in it looks to be very likely legitimate. Of course, this isn’t the first we’ve seen of Fortnite: Chapter 2 as another recent leak also premised an all-new map in addition to these extended means of water travel. However substantial this leak may be, it’s still unknown how or when Fornite plans to bounce back from its black-hole hiatus. All fans have at the moment is speculation fueled by randomly-appearing codes and datamining attempts, but these avenues haven’t proven themselves to be entirely helpful on the matter.
The most likely time for #FortniteChapter2 is Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 4am ET – around 12 hours from now.
We’ll be awake with coverage *if* downtime begins then. For now, it seems that we’ll have to continue staring at this god damn hole. pic.twitter.com/LWn8OLYoep
