Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water Remaster Gets Multiplatform Release (VIDEO)

Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was originally released for the Nintendo Wii U way back in 2014 and the title offered fans a unique experience by utilizing the console’s gamepad to directly control the Camera Obscura. After being announced at E3 2021, the title’s remaster has now received a new release date, not only for the Nintendo Switch, but for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 as well.

Announcing a release set for October 28th of this year, Koei Tecmo released a new overview trailer alongside the news, showcasing some of the game’s new features, including several changes coming to the camera and new costume options for various characters. The remastered release notably features a new Photo Mode feature that allows players to position any character, be it the protagonist or one of the ghosts in a photo, with the player’s background of choice. Fans will also be able to adjust the lens type, frame choice, focus, and more to get that perfect shot.

Of course, the title will bring some other new goodies for fans to enjoy like new costume options for Yuri, Miu, and Ren as well as new accessories to customize with. Those who pre-purchase the upcoming Fatal Frame remaster will also receive an outfit and hat combo from another Koei Tecmo title, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout. With enhanced visuals, the new photo mode, and post-game content coming to the remaster fans are sure to be in for a treat.
