Fallout TV Series Officially In The Works At Amazon

The widely popular Fallout video game franchise is finally getting its own television series. While Fallout 76 has undoubtedly left a dark spot on the series’ overall track record, that hasn’t stopped Amazon from partnering up with Bethesda to make a bona fide Fallout TV series based on the hit games.

The announcement comes by way of Amazon Studios, which recently took to Twitter to unveil a small teaser video with which to deliver the news. During said teaser, it is revealed that the Fallout TV series will be developed by Kilter Films, the studio behind HBO’s award-winning Westworld series. Check out the teaser below:

“Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time. Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends,” said Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan of Kilter Films. “So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.” Todd Howard himself also weighed in on the upcoming collaboration. “Over the last decade, we looked at many ways to bring Fallout to the screen,” Howard said. “But it was clear from the moment I first spoke with Jonah and Lisa a few years ago, that they and the team at Kilter were the ones to do it right. We’re enormous fans of their work and couldn’t be more excited to work with them and Amazon Studios.”

While the Fallout TV series has clearly been greenlit, it’ll still be quite some time before Kilter Films cleans its slate of its other projects. The studio is currently in pre-production on Amazon’s upcoming techno-thriller drama The Peripheral, while HBO’s Westworld was recently picked up for a fourth season. Still, the announcement itself is absolutely cause for celebration. The majority of Fallout fans have been waiting a very, very long time for this to happen. Who knows, maybe our beloved Vault Boy will make an appearance!
