Fallout: New Vegas Dev Shares Interest In Sequel Following Microsoft’s Acquisition Of Bethesda
Obsidian Entertainment has had a run of successful titles recently such as Grounded and The Outer Worlds, delving deeper into the realm of science fiction. The company is also set to release the newly revealed title Avowed, an RPG taking players to the fantasy world of Eora that is reported to be much larger than the already massive The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. That said, with Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Bethesda and its parent company, there is the potential for Obsidian to return to the Fallout franchise for a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas, though whether they’ll actually be given the chance to remains to be seen.
The original Fallout: New Vegas released back in 2010 and offered players a sprawling land filled with tons of unique experiences lovingly crafted by Obisidian Entertainment, though sadly a sequel has yet to be seen. With the recent acquisition of Bethesda and its properties, it wouldn’t be out of the question to see Microsoft take advantage of said properties. With the company also holding ownership of Obsidian maybe they’ll be able to make a sequel to the incredible New Vegas. When asked by a fan on Twitter whether or not there is in fact a possibility of seeing a sequel, Obsidian responded with a shrugging emoji.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ https://t.co/MqyiuNsWS2

It’s interesting to note that Obsidian didn’t have to respond to that particular question; doing so would suggest that there’s still at least some interesting in returning to the world of Fallout. Only time will tell whether or not the prayers of fans will be answered, but it will be interesting to see what comes from Bethesda Softworks and Obsidian Entertainment working under one proverbial roof.
