Fake PlayStation 5 Video Goes Viral, But We Wish It Were Real (VIDEO)

As the current generation of consoles meets its apex, the question of what’s next for major platforms becomes more and more a focus of gamers’ minds. While official channels haven’t expressly confirmed plans for a new Xbox or PlayStation 5, one can presume a substantial upgrade in terms of power, flexibility, and aesthetic is surely in order.

A new video making the rounds provides a conceptual look at exactly that; a fake, albeit stylish presentation of Sony’s future PlayStation 5. Posted by YouTube channel GameParody, a sizzle reel shows off the faux-system’s sleek form factor and formidable hardware, presenting them in a way that seems pretty convincing. Seen below, the system sports some intriguing technical specs as well as an interesting iteration of the DualShock 5 controller; the peripheral boasting magnetically-detachable grips, touch-sensitive joysticks, and a touchpad that doubles as physical keypad.

The above video surely presents a bevy of solidly-inspired ideas, a number of which actually seem in-line with what Sony would likely implement into the upcoming console. As previous reports have figured, PlayStation 5 is on track to beef up its hardware, implement greater visual fidelity, and increase focus toward backward compatibility. However, with Sony’s reluctance to attend E3 2019 or host a PSX event anytime soon, it may be awhile before we actually get the real thing.

What do you think? Are you wowed by this spiffy (fake) presentation, or would you want the actual PlayStation 5 to be even more featureful?
