Leaked Elder Scrolls Online Elsweyr Expansion Rumored To Bring Dragons, New Necromancer Class
When the Morrowind expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online was announced two years ago, it reinvigorated the ESO player base and proved once again that the popular MMO title was the best place to get your Elder Scrolls fix. Now, it appears that the folks over at Bethesda are planning on bringing players to the land of the Khajiit for Chapter III of the game. That’s right, we’re heading to Elsweyr.
The news comes by way of a series of dataminers as compiled by the folks over on the ESO forums. While Bethesda recently announced that fans would get their first glimpse of what’s to come – referred to as The Season of the Dragon – on January 15, these dataminers went ahead and released a significant portion of the information early, and fans appear to be in for quite the treat. Also, there are dragons.
According to the datamined information, the new Elsweyr expansion is bringing with it both the new Necromancer character class, as well as a whole lot of dragons. The folks over at Resetera uncovered a brief description of the expansion, which can be read below:
Venture to the land of the Khajiit in The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr, our newest chapter, an epic story in an all-new zone. Face dread creatures from the past—Dragons!—and discover the dark skills of a new character class, the Necromancer, as you join with new friends and old enemies to save Elsweyr from war and devastation. ESO reaches new heights of storytelling with a war against the Dragons that unfolds and builds over four quarterly releases to an unexpected climax.”
As with the previous Elder Scrolls Online expansions, fans can look forward to a number of new costumes, riding animals, and other assorted goodies. These include new souvenirs, face and body colorings, pets, and more. Check out the images below:
As far as when to expect an official reveal, if Bethesda is sticking with its schedule despite the leaks then fans can look forward to a livestream on January 15 on the Bethesda Twitch page. The stream begins at 2PM PST / 5PM EST, with player rewards depending on the concurrent viewer milestones achieved during the stream.
The Elder Scrolls Online is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
