The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Makes the List of Backwards Compatible Gaming
Since E3 2015, Microsoft announced their efforts toward an Xbox One backwards compatibility feature. Players have raved and celebrated, now given the ability to play older titles on their newest generation console. Very recently, Larry Hyrb(Xbox Live Program Director a.k.a. Major Nelson) announced Mass Effect 2 and 3 coming to the list of backwards compatible games. Here, at Don’t Feed the Gamers, that is awesome! So far, November has been an great month so far in gaming news, and it is just about to get better. Oblivion has made the cut. I’m sure the title did not give it away. At all.

However, Oblivion finally making the list is not too surprising since it was a critically acclaimed title, thus earning the 2006 GotY (Game of the Year) award. The game was known for the quality and effort placed into the dialogue, as well as the substantial game play possibilities in story and character interactions. Can you say this is a ‘win’ in backwards compatible gaming? But wait, there’s more – the list keeps getting longer, and longer. On the very same day, Microsoft’s Larry Hyrb mentions on a separate tweet that Trine 2, Astropop and Medal of Honor: Airborne will be coming to Xbox One.

I don’t know, you guys. I’m not sure my heart can take all of this. Will someone buy one of Wiz’s Energizing Elixirs for me? Speaking of Final Fantasy – if only, another corporation would get the memo on backwards compatability. Shouldn’t older Final Fantasy titles be playable on new generation consoles, too? They deserve some good ol’ fashion lovin’. It certainly wouldn’t hurt sales and revenue. If anything, it would probably drive those up…but what do I know?
Any thoughts, questions, or concerns? Get your hands on Final Fantasy XV, yet? Let us know in the comments section below! We would love to hear from you.
