New Doom Eternal Trailer Shows Off ‘Battlemode’ (VIDEO)

Doom Eternal

Doom Eternal is set to bring a new game mode to the franchise in the form of a 2 against 1 fight between Demons and the Slayer. A recent keynote at QuakeCon this year provided some new footage showing off the upcoming game mode. While not everybody may have been able to see the chaos during the event, fans all over can now get a look at the action for themselves thanks to footage that was recently released.

A new overview trailer for Doom Eternal’s Battlemode was released and shows off three of the five Demons that will be playable at launch, namely the Pain Elemental, the Mancubus, and the Revenant. While each of the Demons have their own abilities, fighting one on one against the fully decked out Slayer will be difficult and teaming up with each other to take down their foe will be necessary.  In order to further aid them, players will be able to place down traps, hazards, and even summon demons to help them in their onslaught.

The arenas players will do battle in have multiple buffs, teleporters, and various other traversal options, giving a talented Slayer an edge as they attempt to play a highly dangerous game of cat and mouse. Upon killing a Demon, the Slayer will have a total of 20 seconds to kill the second or else the downed enemy will respawn with half health, making for some interesting matches that only end when one side has been completely wiped out.

The game’s Battlemode appears to give players a chance to maintain the feeling of the single-player while adding in a little bit of spice with the multiplayer component. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when fans finally get their hands on their own copies of the game and try out the game mode for themselves.

Doom Eternal is set to arrive on November 22nd for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Are you prepared to take on the unique Battlemode multiplayer game mode?
