Destiny’s Iron Banner Introduces Project Mayhem This Week, Inciting Chaos and Bringing Rewards
With Destiny 2’s gameplay reveal right around the corner, it’s no surprise that people are getting “supercharged” in anticipation. To tide Guardians over, the Iron Lords are introducing something new to the upcoming Iron Banner event. They’re calling it, Project Mayhem. The Iron Banner events rely heavily on a players light level, the stronger their light, the stronger they are in the Iron Banner. There is of course something new coming to the proving grounds of the Iron Lords. For the first time, the game mode Mayhem Clash will be used.
The Mayhem Clash gametype is a Clash variant introduced during the Taken King DLC. It differs from its vanilla counterpart by allowing grenades, melee attack charges, and Supers to all recharge significantly faster than normal. This also allows for special and heavy ammo crates to drop more often throughout matches. To go along with the increased speed, all point values are multiplied by 10. It truly is mayhem, even more so being in the Iron Banner.
As for every Iron Banner event, players will be rewarded with loot from the Iron Lords including armors and weapons. The particular drops for this event will be Pulse Rifles and Machine Guns as well as armor sets for each class; Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks. The Iron Banner’s Project Mayhem will begin Tuesday, May 9th and will run all the way through to Tuesday, May 16th. Players can expect to continue seeing in-game events like this and more for the foreseeable future, Bungie has no plans to shut down the game once Destiny 2 makes its way to the public.
Destiny has provided players with an expanding world of challenges and enjoyment for quite some time now. It’s been said that Destiny 2 will be similar to World of Warcraft, if the game expands that much there will be no end to what Bungie can do to the game.
