Both the English and Japanese live-action trailers play up the game’s humor. While cheesy at times, they clearly show the game in a warm light. While the English version shows off more action for the FPS, the Japanese trailer seen above goes for a more “groovy” approach. Japan’s trailer focuses on the the player’s pastime of dancing rather than the action, turning the Destiny universe into a giant “freestyle playground” rather than the war consumed solar system it takes place in.
The whole trailer looks like one giant massive dance party featuring multiple Guardians of all classes . There are also glow sticks, fireworks, and a great beat – there’s even a soccer ball at one point during the video. It’s as if the trailer is trying to say, “play me, I’m a fun game” which is all players really want, a game that is fun to play.
Many players have shown off their dancing skills through various music videos such as the Halloween Thriller music video by HuskyRaid. It will be very entertaining to see what fans come up with for the Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 is live now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players, with the PC version releasing October 24th.
