Deathloop Release Date Delayed To Fall 2021
The gaming industry managed to flourish during the scourge of 2020, and 2021 so far has continued that progress with the promise of several big new video game releases. One of these new titles is Deathloop, which will bring a unique repeating timeloop to the action-adventure shooter genre of games. With the COVID-19 pandemic, gaming development studios have seen delays in their projects, due to shifts in working remotely from home making development more difficult. Recently delayed games have included Back 4 Blood and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Now, it seems that Arkane Studios has had to make the decision to delay the Deathloop release to the fall season later this year.

As reported by Game Informer, developer Arkane Studios recently made the announcement regarding the Deathloop release date on their official Twitter account. The announcement was made in a video by game director Dinga Bakaba and art director Sebastien Mitton. In it, the pair state that the release date of May 21st will now be moved up to September 14th later this year. Their additional statement reads:
We’re committed to quality and preserving our team’s ambitions for Deathloop, while ensuring the health and safety of everyone at Arkane. We’ll be using this extra time to accomplish our goal: create a fun, stylist, and mind-bending player experience. We apologize for the extended wait and thank you for all of your passion and excitement. It is the fuel that powers our creativity and our hard work. We can’t wait to show you more Deathloop soon!”
Arkane Studios made the difficult decision to ensure the health and safety of their employees, while also holding onto their ambitious vision for what Deathloop is meant to be in its full form. While this Deathloop release date delay may be disappointing to some, hopefully it is understood that this decision is for the best for all. Things certainly have felt like a timeloop lately, so this extra wait should feel like nothing extra at all.
