Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Release Delayed
While the video game industry is still dealing with development struggles related to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2021 still has plenty of new video games launching in the marketplace. One such highly anticipated game is Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which will contain elements and locations from all nine of the core Star Wars films. The game has promised an ambitious scope, with expansive open world locations and over 300 playable Star Wars characters. Several major video games have experienced delays, and now it appears that The Skywalker Saga will unfortunately be delayed from its initially expected May 2021 release.

Developer Tt Games has announced the delay of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on their official Twitter account. The statement given in an image states that “All of us at TT Games are working hard to make LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga the biggest and best-ever LEGO game – but we’re going to need more time to do it. We won’t be able to make our intended Spring release date, but will provide updated launch timing as soon as possible.” No specific reason for the delay is given, but it is like due to the added development difficulties caused by employees working remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The game’s ambitious scope will recreate over 20 planets from the Star Wars saga, and a Deluxe edition of the game will also include additional characters from the Rogue One and Solo standalone films, as well as The Mandalorian and Bad Batch Disney+ spinoff series. With so much packed into Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, it is understandable why more time is needed for the developers. Let’s hope that they find all the time they need to craft such an encapsulating version of the Star Wars saga. Also, make Sy Snootles and Constable Zuvio playable characters while we’re at it.
