This Death Stranding PS4 Theme Highlights The Game’s Vast Landscapes (VIDEO)

Death Stranding PS4 Theme

Death Stranding continues to both mystify and compel gamers, with its classic Kojima charms and artistic presentation. The footage shown of the game at this year’s E3 PlayStation event revealed its heavy use of technology and seemingly supernatural elements, but what has struck a chord with many eager fans has been its gorgeous natural locales. Now, a fan-made custom Death Stranding PS4 theme has provided a full 360 degree view of the game’s beautiful vistas.

The fine team at Truant Pixel has released several videos on their official YouTube channel of the new Death Stranding PS4 theme. Truant Pixel has been known for crafting many wonderful custom PS4 themes in the past, but this one is certainly a whale of a creation. The video shows their full 360 degree recreation of the open hilly terrain seen in the Death Stranding footage shown at E3 this year. This theme is an even more impressive creation when you remember that PS4 themes are allowed to only use up to 16 MB of memory to function on the PS4 home menu.

To fit within these memory contraints, the team utilized procedural texturing and photogrammetry to minimize the storage size of the files. Regardless, the terrain looks quite detailed, and the theme’s real time nature also allows rain to sporadically occur. Some rain drops will even fall on the camera’s lens for effect. The theme is not official, but Truant Pixel has offered Kojima use of the theme to promote the game if he and the other related parties approve. This is surely some impressive work, and hopefully one day Death Stranding fans get to proudly embrace this theme like Norman Reedus does with babies.
