Beautifully Illustrated Dark Souls Comic Features Characters From The Original Game, Coming Soon

Dark Souls Comic

The Dark Souls series has always prided itself on its obscure storytelling. Instead of spoon feeding players all the delicious details of the massive universe, players are instead tasked with finding out little bits as they go along, whether said bits are garnered from item descriptions, chatty NPCs, or old lady narrators (read: Fire Keepers). Now, it appears that publisher Titan Comics is looking to fill in a few more gaps in the story, as it has announced an upcoming Dark Souls comic set that ties directly into the first game in the series.

Titled Dark Souls: Age of Fire, the comic is a four-issue series that will feature “all the main characters” from the very first Dark Souls game. If that isn’t enough to excite every ‘Souls fan out there, Titan Comics has confirmed that one of the upcoming Dark Souls comic issues will feature a “dramatic retelling of the Legends of Silver Knights.” The comic series is written by Ryan O’Sullivan, who has worked on  several different comics including Void Trip and Warhammer. The comic’s illustrations are by Anton Kokarev, whose past credits include TekkenThe Howling, and The Evil Dead 2. Check out some of the amazing art below:

The first issue of Dark Souls: The Age of Fire will be available for purchase in both physical and digital formats on May 16, and will cost $4. The timing couldn’t be better, as the highly anticipated Dark Souls Remastered arrives for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 25. For those who can’t wait for the remaster, the original Dark Souls is currently available on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
