Dark Souls Board Game Now In Production, Shipping Soon
Ah the magic resurgence of tabletop gaming is a gift to the world of nerds. New board games are giving players the ability to have their own adventures in classic geek properties such as Labyrinth and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, long after the original release of the source material. Now, we could perhaps see a new trend of popular video game series receiving analog board game adaptations. Gaming news has been abuzz about the new Dark Souls Board Game after it swiftly reached its Kickstarter funding goal almost a year ago, and now it appears the game is finally in production and shipping soon.
A new update has been posted on the Dark Souls Board Game Kickstarter page that shows images of the board game components currently being produced for imminent shipment of the final package. The update shows glimpses of the character boards containing all of the various pieces that come with the game. The update mentions that a large quantity of the English version of the game being made, which is fitting considering the U.K. based production of the game. Also shown is a look at the box art of the game, before being folded, which uses the cover art seen for Dark Souls III.
As a special reveal with the update, a rendering of what may be a figure of the Xanthous King is revealed. The update also reminds backers that pledged enough to receive a copy of the game need to make any shipping address changes as soon as possible to ensure timely delivery of the game.
