Chris Pratt Says Avengers: Infinity War “Will be Exactly What the Fans Want”

Chris Pratt

In 2008, Marvel Studios launched what is now known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU, with Iron Man. Since its release, Marvel Studios has added to the shared world of comic book inspired films with characters such as Thor, Captain America, and the galactic mod-squad, the Guardians of the Galaxy (GotG). All of these films have been leading up to the ultimate team-up movie, The Avengers: Infinity War, in which all of the heroes in the MCU will face off against the big bad Thanos. Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt claims that this pivotal film in the shared film universe will definitely not disappoint the fans.

Pratt is out promoting for next month’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and while fans are excited about the second installment in the GotG franchise, the thought of the Guardians and the Avengers teaming up seems to be on everybody’s minds. In a recent interview, Pratt spoke about what the fans can expect when the two teams meet up in Infinity War:

It’s exactly what the fans want. I’ve heard over and over from people, ‘When are the Guardians going to meet up with the Avengers?’

I was never sure how that would happen or if that would happen, but then they announced it and called us and told us it was happening. We’ve shot most of it — my stuff — and I can tell you, the fans are not going to be disappointed. It’s going to be really freaking cool.”

Infinity War Set

The release of The Avengers: Infinity War will take place exactly 10 years and 2 days after the debut of Iron Man. For a decade, fans have been following along in one of the most intricately planned cinematic experiences. Each character involved has a had such a strong development and continues to grow as the overall story evolves. Chris Pratt stated:

It’s been a long time coming. This is a decade’s worth of deep storytelling that all leads up to this thing.”

“This thing” is the ultimate fight between the heroes of the MCU and one of Marvel’s most fierce villains, Thanos. With the entire lineup of characters already revealed in the films, as well as those that are still to come in GotG Vol. 2, Thor Ragnarok, Black Panther, and Spider-Man: Homecoming, the roster that will appear in Infinty War is of epic proportions. Chris Pratt thinks highly of the Guardians sequel, but thinks higher of the ultimate team-up flick:

Well, so far, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 still is the biggest spectacle movie of all time — that is all time up until now. But Avengers (Infinity War) is going to be a pretty big spectacle. I think you’re talking 40 heroes — that is a huge spectacle.”

Infinity War

There’s a lot to be excited about if you’re a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moviegoers have been waiting for a decade for this ultimate showdown, and a year isn’t that far away. In the meantime, don’t miss out on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2which hits theaters May 5.
