Capcom Is Asking Fans To Test A New Resident Evil Game

Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 Remake was an absolute smash hit, swooning fans and critics alike with its modernized graphics and revamped controls all while adhering to what made the original title one of the best survival horror games ever created. Now, it appears that another Resident Evil game is in the works, and Capcom has begun to ask some dedicated fans to test it out.

The news comes by way of an email sent out from the Biohazard Ambassador program obtained by the website Biohaze, According to the email, Capcom is looking for current members of the program and RE fans to try out “a new Resident Evil game that’s in development.” The testing is set to begin in early September.

Unfortunately, we don’t know what kind of Resident Evil game this will turn out to be. While it could be a spin-off of some sort, an important thing to note is that the testing is being done by Capcom Division 1, which suggests that it will either be a main-line title or another remake, perhaps Resident Evil 3. We know that a possible remake for Resident Evil 3 was seemingly being teased by Capcom in the past, and the timing certainly seems right if they’re looking for folks to test it out now. It is also important to note that the US also has an ambassador program, though it seems like this particular test is JP only. That said, we may see a US version of the same testing occur somewhere down the line.

So, thoughts on a new Resident Evil title in the works? Would you rather it be a brand new game or a remake?
