Resident Evil 3 Remake Possibly Being Teased By Capcom

Resident Evil 3 Remake Possibly Being Teased By Capcom

Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 Remake was a massive success, with many reviewers – myself included – praising the game for reimagining the title while still staying true to the original. Since the release of the game, there has been a significant and ever growing desire for a remake of Resident Evil 3, with RE2 Remake’s publisher previously stating that it certainly wouldn’t be out of the question. Now, it appears that Capcom may be quietly teasing that a remake for the 3rd game is in development.

The tease comes by way of two separate posts from Capcom’s official Resident Evil Twitter account, each posted within one day of each other. The first image shows an image of Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil 1 Remake, while the second post shows a screenshot from the RE2 Remake that may just be referencing Nemesis, the main antagonist from Resident Evil 3.  Both posts can be seen below:

So above we have a picture of Jill Valentine, followed by a picture of a hole that was created by “something or someone” that doesn’t understand the concept of doors. Those that have played through the RE2 Remake recently may recall that that hole in particular was already there by the time Claire and Chris make their way through the RPD building, and given that Capcom doesn’t just come out and say that it was Mr. X that made the hole, this is a likely nod to Nemesis.

None of the teasing is particularly obvious, though there have been whispers of a Resident Evil 3 Remake in the past, and now would be as good a time as any given the recent success of the RE2 Remake. Here’s hoping Capcom gives its fans what they want.
