Capcom Delays Resident Evil 7’s ‘Not A Hero’ DLC – “Not Good Enough” (VIDEO)
Fans of the Resident Evil franchise were ecstatic to discover that a fan-favorite character would be returning with upcoming content. Originally planned to be available this Spring, Capcom has announced that the Not a Hero DLC will set the release back for a yet to be confirmed date. Capcom had a good reason for this and explains the decision in a recent video below. Keep in mind this video is in Japanese, but can be watched with English subtitles if the closed captions are turned on.
Director Koshi Nakanishi explains the reason for this delay in the video above, but for readers who can’t watch it – here’s the breakdown. Capcom has delayed the Not a Hero DLC so that the team can improve the content. According to the game director, the company wishes for the free add-on to live up to the incredible reception that Resident Evil 7 has received.
“In light of the incredible reception of Resident Evil 7, we concluded that this DLC was not good enough to meet those high expectations … Our aim is for this content to match the high quality of the main game, so we need more development time in order to achieve that goal.”

The Not a Hero DLC features fan favorite Chirs Redfield. At the end of Resident Evil 7, it is revealed that Chris is working for Umbrella Corporation.
