Call Of Duty Warzone Will Continue Through Multiple Titles

Call of Duty: Warzone has seen quite a bit of success as it continues through multiple seasons, improving and expanding on the battle royale genre as time goes on. The title is currently linked to Modern Warfare, sharing in progression, weaponry, and unlockable skins across both titles. However, whenever new Call of Duty titles arrive, it is worth questioning just how the title will fit into the franchise as a whole. Thankfully, it seems that the battle royale title will be persistent even as new games arrive within the franchise.

Narrative director at Infinity Ward Taylor Kurosaki and creative director at Raven Software Amos Hodge recently sat down for an interview with French website Gamergen, discussing Call of Duty Warzone as it stands right now and how the battle royale title will fare in the future. Kurosaki explained that as time goes on, the publisher and its teams are not only working on how to release new content for players, but realize how to best integrate that content as well.

Call of Duty is filled with a variety of sub-franchises that each bring their own unique flavor to the series but Kurosaki assured that the games are nonetheless “all connected in some ways.” One of these ways moving forward was confirmed to be Call of Duty Warzone itself, with the developer stating that through it all, the battle royale game will be a constant, acting as a sort-of bridge connecting the various stories and sub-franchises together into one flowing universe.

Call of Duty is a genre in itself, there are different branches in the Call of Duty tree, but they’re all connected in some ways. Warzone will be the through line that connects all of the different various sub-franchises of Call of Duty. It’s going to be really cool to see how the different sub-franchises sort of come in and out of focus, but Warzone will be the one constant.”

Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Call of Duty Warzone are currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. What are you hoping to see in the future of Warzone?
