Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 just had its full reveal trailer, and boy was it a doozy. Of course, that’s not the only news that aired during Activision Blizzard’s live stream: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies was also announced, and the overall scope of the popular game mode is absolutely massive. For the first time in Call of Duty history, an entry in the series is launching with three full-blown Zombies maps, each taking place in very different environments. Check out the first map below, titled “IX”:

The first of three Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies maps, IX takes place in what appears to be Ancient Rome, and acts as a sort of flashback for the four characters – named Scarlet, Bruno, Diego and Shaw – that are featured in the second map. As the four characters are centered in a gladiator arena in Ancient Rome, the weaponry available for the map will seemingly be entirely melee-based, which is incredibly exciting for a Zombies map.

Now that our four heroes are aware of the ancient evil, they must act to safeguard the future, and in order to do so they must retrieve the relic from, of all places, the Titanic. That’s right folks, we’re fighting Zombies on the Titanic. Now that we’re back in slightly more modern times, the playable characters this time around have access to more modern weaponry, which appears to include pistols and exploding potions. There still appears to be some melee options on this map as well, for those looking to get up close and personal with some Zombies.

The last of the three announced Zombies maps separates itself from the other two with four throwback characters from previous Call of Duty games. Blood of the Dead is inspired by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s Mob of the Dead map, featuring “four lost souls trapped in an eternal purgatory, desperate to break the cycle.” It is more than likely that Blood of the Dead will take place in Alcatraz prison, though we won’t know for sure until Activision Blizzard releases more details.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 arrives on October 12, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
