Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Patch Details – Here’s What You Need to Know
Player response was mixed on November 4th with Infinity Ward’s latest release, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The game currently sits at a mixed rating on Steam, primarily because of how completely uninspired and unoriginal gameplay was. The story was short (which is to be expected from an FPS title focused on MP) and disengaging, and it seemed like the producers thought that if they took the same familiar formula and put it in space, it would be enough to fool people into thinking it was worth a purchase. Perhaps this is why the developers have decided to push an Infinite Warfare patch on all platforms this weekend
Oddly enough, the two most praised aspects of Infinite Warfare were the Zombies in Space mode and the fact that it came with a remastered version of Modern Warfare 2 which has ironically drawn away many of the would be player base. Even though most had positive things to say about Zombies in Space, the game mode still suffered from framerate issues for systems across the board.
Infinity Ward has been mildly backpedaling ever since the game hit stores, and this weekend the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare patch will hopefully fix issues in a game that was already growing stale. For the most part, the patch simply changed a few things in multiplayer to make them actually behave correctly and modified damage on weapons.
The patch also corrected a few minor issues in the Zombies mode and made it easier for players to know if they ranked up a weapon. Additionally, a few exploitable bugs were rectified in Zombie mode, so good or bad, players won’t be able to take advantage of them anymore.
There’s a full list of what they’ve attempted to fix, available on the Steam website. Despite all of this, many wonder if a few bug fixes is enough to prevent Call of Duty Infinite Warfare from dying on the vine mere weeks after it’s release. Hopefully the poor feedback has caused Infinity Ward to reconsider what fans expect out of games in general.
What about you? Will this be enough to bring you back to the game, or have you already moved on to bigger and better things? Let us know what you think about the patch in the comments and tell us if it has improved your gameplay.
