Borderlands 3 Reveals Free Halloween Event (VIDEO)

Borderlands 3

Borderlands 2 saw the introduction of small DLC that released at a cheap price and were set around various seasons, providing fans with concise but enjoyable events themed around particular holidays such as Christmas or Halloween. It seems the developers are hoping to once more continue the tradition with a bit of a twist, beginning with the return of the “Bloody Harvest” event in Borderlands 3.

Similar to previous TK Baha’s Bloody Harvest, the event is set to bring a whole host of Halloween themed skins and weapons alongside bosses, enemies, and environments. The first-ever Borderlands show goes into a little bit of detail as to what fans will be able to expect when the DLC arrives later this year. Once the event goes live, fans will cross a new “Haunted” enemy that will spawn a Ghostly foe once killed who will also need to be defeated in order to earn a new currency called Hecktoplasm.

The spooky currency will be able to be given to a new NPC named Maurice and eventually earn the right to enter the new Bloody Harvest map where they’ll face off against a terrifying new boss named Captain Haunt who happens to be a skeletal version of the base game boss Captain Truant. The new DLC also offers a variety of other Halloween themed enemies like Rakk-O-Lanterns, flying bat-like creatures with pumpkin heads, and more. Fans will be experiencing a brand new feature as well, a debuff called “Terror” that will decrease accuracy by making it harder to see clearly thanks to mist, give the player’s character shaky hands making it harder to aim, and more. Though there will be a way to give fans a chance to make use of the new mechanic to player’s advantage, though how remains unknown for the moment.

Borderlands 3 recently released for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4. No release date has been given for the Bloody Harvest event yet but given that Halloween is just around the corner it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to anticipate seeing some more news soon.

The game has added in a variety of really cool features that were discussed within the Borderlands show that makes the experience incredibly enjoyable for players whether their in-game, watching a stream of somebody playing, and much more. The Halloween event won’t be one players will want to miss out on.
