A Total War Saga: Troy Announced For 2020 (VIDEO)

A Total War Saga: Troy

Sega and Creative Assembly have announced that the latest addition to Total War will be sending players to Ancient Greece in 2020. Called A Total War Saga: Troy, the Bronze age is looking especially shiny in the two reveal trailers the developer recently put forth. The first takes us to the deadly rivalry between Achilles and Hector of Troy. Check it out below:

The second trailer zooms out a bit in scope, revealing some of the campaign map (with a little exposition) where users will wage their version of the Trojan War. Check it out here:

A Total War Saga: Troy isn’t expected to be an RTS version of the Iliad you may have read in high school, but rather a more historical take on large-scale hoplite combat. However, legendary heroes from mythology appear to be part of the gameplay as well. How heroes will affect gameplay is still to be determined.

What should be expected are epic battles between massive formations of soldiers clashing outside the walls of Troy and other locations. Basically, everything you know and love about the Total War franchise. Surely more information will be revealed from Creative Assembly as we get closer to launch. For now, enjoy the reveal and get ready for battle. A Total War Saga: Troy is expected to be released in 2020 exclusively for PC.
