Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance Re-Issue Makes Surprise PC Release (VIDEO)
Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance released all the way back in 2001, a whole 2 decades ago. It was an outlier in the franchise, being the first to be released onto consoles such as Xbox and Playstation 2. A re-issue recently saw a surprise release for consoles as well, though in both instances the title wasn’t released onto PC. Now, a new PC version of the returning title has arrived for players through various platforms such as Steam, GOG, and Epic Games at a later date.
The re-issued Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance is the exact same as it once was with the same mechanics, gameplay, and content as it had when the title was first released. Players can play alone or with 2 friends as they journey through a 3 part campaign that takes them from the city of Baldur’s Gate itself to the surrounding areas. Three customizable characters can be chosen from, including a Dwarven fighter named Kromlech, the Human archer Vahn, and the Elven sorceress Adrianna. It is worth noting that while the has received a 4k resolution facelift, the title isn’t necessarily a remaster or remake but rather a re-issue of the title. This may be a bit disappointing for some fans, especially considering the price tag of $29.99. Still, it will be nice to return to the incredible story of Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance and the action-packed RPG gameplay that the title provides.
