Assassin’s Creed Odyssey To Feature The Biggest Map Yet, Higher Level Caps

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The upcoming Assassin’s Creed Odyssey hopes to follow on the trail of success laid out from the impressive Assassin’s Creed Origins. Incorporating new features such as dialogue options, a choice between a male or female protagonist, romance options, and much more, the title aims to be the biggest in the series to date. Ubisoft has given a little insight as to just how big it’s going to be.

Assassin’s Creed Origins was a massive title with an enormous map filled with plenty of curious locations to discover. When asked in a recent interview about how big Odyssey’s map will be,  Game Director Scott Phillips replied that map would be the biggest yet.

It’s a bigger map overall. The biggest map we’ve ever built. It’s got a lot of sea, of course because we’ve brought back seamless naval. So there’s a lot of area to explore on the land and on the water. It’s a huge map filled with tons of content, places to explore, people to discover, stories to experience, and quest as well.”

Alongside the larger map, Phillips also mentioned that the title will have a larger progression system as well. Where Origins initially started with 40 levels, Odyssey will feature 50 levels at its start.

We built our own based around the same lines as Origins. We’ve got 50 levels of progression. As you kill enemies, as you get certain types of – if you do a certain type of assassination you get more experience. As you discover locations, or complete locations, or complete quests you’re going to get more experience points. As you get more experience points you get more levels, and those levels give you access to more abilities. And those abilities change the way you play the game. So it’s constantly progressing.”

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is set to arrive on October 5 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Let us know your thoughts on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and more in the comment section below.
