ARK Park – Walk With Dinos In Upcoming VR Experience! (VIDEO)
Welcome to Jurassic Park! Alright that’s probably copyright infringement, so we can’t actually say that, but this is definitely the closest we’ll ever get to experiencing such an awe-inspiring theme park for ourselves. Snail Games has recently announced the upcoming release of ARK Park, a virtual reality ride complete with holographic displays of dinos and a ride through multiple ecosystems, including snowy mountains, lush rainforests, and swamps as you come face to face with these long-past titans for your own enjoyment. Unlike the thrill-seeking adventure of ARK: Survival Evolved, you won’t have to look over your shoulder every chance you get to make sure a T-Rex isn’t chasing you.
Instead, expect a relaxing and educational jaunt through this themed world that will be featured on all three VR platforms: Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, and HTC Vive.
After announcing its involvement with Studio Wildcard, the creators of ARK: Survival Evolved, Snail Games states that the VR experience will allow gamers to get up close and personal with these incredibly lifelike dinosaurs, ride them, interact with them, and even collect them. It was also announced by the developers that previous ARK players can import their collections into the VR experience as well. Check out the video below to get a glimpse of the beauty and awe coming our way:
Players begin their ARK Park adventure at a visitor center surrounded by life-sized holographic dinosaurs where they’ll learn about these creatures that they’ve only read about and seen in books and summer blockbusters. From there, players will have the option to explore multiple interactive attractions on-foot, in vehicles,or on Dino-back, including a swamp, forest, desert, snowy mountain range and more. Each attraction features stunningly rendered and realistic environments of the period inhabited by ARK creatures, which can be found and captured through use of items, weapons, and puzzle-solving.
The latest addition to the ARK experience looks like a seriously cool adventure, even if it’s not life-threatening for your in-game character (as if that were a bad thing!). The compilation of Jurassic meets futuristic is definitely one that piques our interest, though this isn’t the first time the game franchise has announced something right out of a sci-fi wonderland for its fans. With its recent TEK reveal, Studio Wildcard unveiled that your precious dinos could be equipped with some pretty cool power armor. Just think: having a T-rex with a laser beam strapped to its head sounds like a really rad way to dominate the playing field!
All in all, the geek in us all can’t wait for ARK Park’s 2017 release date. Honestly, who doesn’t love the idea of having the capability of learning about these beasts in a really neat fashion? What do you guys think? Will you be giving this VR title a try when it comes out? Let us know in the comments below, and game on!
