It’s the first of April and whether people are hiding goodies from kids because of Easter or April Fools, one consensus is the quality gaming releasing over the next few weeks. With March‘s new adventures on the open sea, the backwoods of Montana, and the sands of Egypt, April 2018 may look pretty barren in comparison, but a few notable titles have been keeping fans’ hopes high with anticipation. The biggest games of the month include the epic Norse-themed God of War, the Xbox release of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, and the long awaited arrival of Yakuza 6 in the West.

“Virtual reality” looks to be the theme for the new month, as the immersive dimension also takes focus with Rick and Morty‘s new PSVR adventure, Skyrim VR’s jump to PC, and a new movie-based Planet of the Apes game. There’s plenty to look forward to with Nintendo as well, with the debut of South Park: The Fractured But Whole on Switch and the cardboard crafting delight of Nintendo Labo.
