The Forest Early Access Departure Set This Spring – New Features Incoming
The Forest, an action-adventure survival game, that sets you and possibly your friends against an unknown wilderness full of surprises. Finally leaving its early access stages this April, Endnight Games have big plans in store for its official version 1.0 release. They state the big changes are in the works by improving current in-game systems and an overall better gameplay experience, and even a virtual reality mode. Here’s a snippet from their statement:
We’re going to be adding new reasons and resources for killing the creepies. There will be a rethinking of the cold and warmth system, including a new warm suit. New buildables will be added. There will be some big performance optimizations especially for late game saves. Changes and improvements to how multiplayer save games work and along with this a bunch of dedicated server improvements.
The multiplayer clothing system is being improved and expanded, with a new system to allow you to switch outfits. We’ll also give some details about a VR game mode when we are closer to release. Along with a bunch more we don’t have room to include here, we have some really crazy and fun surprises in store, especially regarding the ending and are really excited to see what people think.”
The Forest is currently listed as $14.99, which will increase upon its release in April to $19.99 so now is a better time than ever to purchase a copy. As of right now, there isn’t an official date, but news will be revealed soon as the month looms closer.
After a deadly plane crash that leaves passengers stranded in an unknown forest, players must seek out answers from surrounding clues and survive. It won’t be easy as milky-eyed cannibals are out for flesh, but the silver lining is that their blood-curdling screams are a fair warning before an attempt to rip you apart. Build an elaborate camp, find other passengers, or turn the game into a lumberjack simulator. It’s an open-world game with plenty to explore, see and do.
