Anthem Will Feature Seasonal Events

The developers at BioWare aren’t the type to shy away from questions. Well, except for the ones that could compromise the series or the surprises the team has in store for players, but aside from that everything else is pretty much fair game. As an executive producer for Dragon Age and now Anthem, Mark Darrah has always been active with the fan base and ready to answer those prying questions. It turns out Anthem will feature seasonal events to keep the game fresh.

From the matter of microtransactions, javelin options, to the ambitions of the game overall, Darrah responds to fans with admirable transparency. In response to one fan inquiry, the executive producer revealed that Anthem will host seasonal events themed around holidays such as Christmas, Halloween, and other celebratory occasions. Simply put, he said “yes.”

In other words, the upcoming triple-A title will have a regular influx of content. There’s confirmation that microtransactions will be available. It’s likely they’ve juggled the idea of cosmetics for the javelin suits and other small add-ons such as sprays, weapon skins, and other common features seen in games such as Overwatch and Fortnite. It will be interesting to see how BioWare will handle seasonal events and in what form. Will the events affect both campaign and co-operative play? If so, will they come in the form of missions and objectives, or the freedom of interaction in its open-world setting?

If the cosmetic enhancements are anything like Overwatch and Fortnite, it will be a fun and interactive way of showing off personal creativity and style. All of that is certainly good news to hear!
