Anthem Devs Praise the Game’s “Amazing” And “Enthralling” Storytelling
Outside a corn maze or two, developer BioWare has been relatively quiet as of late regarding their upcoming action RPG Anthem. In fact, no new footage of the sprawling space opera has been released since this year’s E3 back in June. Behind the scenes is another story, of course, as the Anthem devs are continuing their work and slowly inching towards that tentative 2018 release date.
After reaching one of their internal milestones, a few BioWare creatives have recently taken to Twitter to voice excitement about the progress they’ve made so far. Game Director Jonathan Warner mentioned that what he saw from the BioWare team meeting was “amazing,” also praising writer Jay Watamaniuk’s “enthralling” knack for storytelling.

Unfortunately, the newly fulfilled goal did not reveal any gameplay footage, but producer Alain Baxter did chronicle the meeting of the Anthem devs in a series of images. Baxter also commented that seeing the team’s efforts come together was a definite highlight for him.

Done! Great show! Can't say much, but one highlight: snap I took of the 3 pillars at BioWare … and no, Gandhi is not one them. 😬 pic.twitter.com/FCX27emOl8

Highlight: Reviewing pieces of work initially on its own, then in the end, seeing it all come together as a game. #AnthemGame #bioware

Though there hasn’t been a lot of Anthem-specific news in recent months, BioWare has experienced a number of shake-ups in the meantime. Dragon Age director Mike Laidlaw recently departed the company and a merger with Motive Studios has been underway since August. Anthem is eyeing a release in Fall 2018 and will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
