Even without the presence of Hideo Kojima, Konami has found reason to keep the Metal Gear franchise alive with the release of Metal Gear Survive. While the game uses common elements from previous Metal Gear games and continues the use of the Fox Engine begun with Metal Gear Solid V, the game takes a new direction for the franchise with the inclusion of undead enemies. Konami has supported the game with online components, a long list of trophies, and soon something for fans of co-op play. A new Metal Gear Survive Co-op mission has been confirmed to arrive next month.

Konami has announced the new Metal Gear Co-op mission on their official website. “Rescue Mission” is described its main goals as to “Cooperate and coordinate with your squad to go rescue soldiers seeking for help.” This mission will take full advantage of co-op mode and will require players to work together to accomplish their goals, as the players will be venturing into dangerous enemy territory. Little additional information has been given about this new mission, but it will certainly keep some players interested in returning to the game.

To keep fans satisfied until the co-op mission arrives next month, Konami has also started making daily and weekly missions available for players to complete. These missions include special aspects, such as “Lucky Devil” which increases critical hit percentage.
