Modder’s Zelda Themed Nintendo Switch Looks Like an IRL Hyrule Relic (VIDEO)

Zelda Themed Nintendo Switch

With the launch of the first set of DLC packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the tentpole title for the Switch’s launch has returned to the forefront of every Switch owner’s attention. While Breath of the Wild has pervaded much about the conversation regarding the Switch so far throughout its life, one area of common occurrence that we have not seen the Zelda title cross has been the many modded Nintendo Switch console projects that have been seen throughout the web. However, that has changed now, as one modder has created a Zelda themed Nintendo Switch.

MakoMod has uploaded the video seen above to their YouTube channel, showing their custom Nintendo Switch mod. Each piece of the Nintendo Switch hardware in this project has been made to look like a relic from Hyrule. Much in the way that the Sheikah Slate in Breath of the Wild was meant originally meant to reflect the player’s use of the Wii U tablet, and the Switch by later extension, this mod likely too will mean the same for its creator. This can be seen clearly in the large Sheikah insignia carved into the faux-stone Switch dock for this mod.

This mod’s joy-cons look like they were actually carved from wood, like a Hylian peasant would use, and the golden Switch tablet looks worthy of Zelda herself. Unlike other mods, this one is actually being sold on eBay for just under $700. That’s quite a steep price, but for a big Zelda fan, it surely must be a drop in the bucket to feel like having a Sheikah Slate to call their own.
