Take-Two Teases 8 Remasters, Remakes, And Ports In Development
Quite a few titles are set to make an appearance from Take-Two Interactive and its subsidiaries like Rockstar Games and 2K Games in the coming future. These currently range from an interactive horror drama title called The Quarry to the hilarious space flight simulator Kerbal Space Program 2, to Marvel’s Midnight Suns, a tactical RPG taking place in the darker side of the Marvel universe. Fans will be seeing these titles hopefully sometime within the next 3 years alongside the expected next entries of sports franchise titles NBA 2k23, PGA Tour 2k23, and WWE 2k23.
By the looks of a recent update, it also appears that the company is looking to deliver a new batch of remakes and remasters under the Take-Two Interactive umbrella. Found in a recent quarterly financial report, Rockstar and Take-Two revealed their plans to revisit 8 different titles from the past, with the updated versions expected to release between now and FY 2025, or March 31st, 2025. While there was no mention as to what games might exactly be on the way, the Android and iOS versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Definitive Edition coming in 2023 may be included in this count, leaving at least 7 mystery titles in the air.
The possibilities for what could be coming aren’t endless by any means, but there are a lot of things the developers could be revamping for the future. Take-Two Interactive is a large company with many popular IPs under its belt such as BioShock and Borderlands, in addition to the huge library of past titles from Rockstar Games such as the Red Dead games, Manhunt, Midnight Club, and even Bully, which has a past of, albeit short-lived, revival projects.
Are there any titles you’d like to see get updated for modern hardware like Red Dead Revolver, a Midnight Club, or maybe even a return to the Max Payne franchise? Let us know your thoughts on the upcoming remasters, ports, and remakes that could be on the way from Take-Two and Rockstar Games in the comments section below.
