One of the biggest shakeups in Hollywood the past few years has been The Walt Disney Company’s Acquisition of 20th Century Fox. A particular aspect of concern with Marvel fans regarding this acquisition focused on the fate of Fox’s live-action Deadpool film series starring Ryan Reynolds. While thankfully Ryan Reynolds confirmed that Deadpool 3 was in the works at Marvel Studios under the ownership of Disney last year, no word on whether the third film would continue the R-rated standard of the film’s tone. Now, it’s been revealed that the third Deadpool movie will continue the series’ vulgar and violent streak with the help of the writers from Bob’s Burgers.

Deadline has reported new information regarding Deadpool 3 given to them by anonymous sources close to the project. According to these sources, Bob’s Burgers writers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin have been selected to write the script for the new film, with Reynolds still set to star as Wade Wilson. The pair, which happen to be sisters, gained the edge over several other writers who gave pitches to Reynolds for their ideas for the new Deadpool movie. While no information regarding the plot has been given, the sources did indicate that this third film is expected to maintain the series’ same violent, crass and fourth wall-breaking tone, which comes as a relief to Deadpool purists. For most of the past decade, the Molyneux sisters have had their careers focus on writing and producing for Bob’s Burgers, but soon will have their own animated series The Great North premiere on the Fox television network next month. With the writing partners having an Emmy, other accolades and Ryan Reynolds’ blessing, the pair seem fit to pen this new chapter in Deadpool’s chaotic story. Here’s hoping they somehow get Deadpool to bring some more F-bombs to the MCU.
