Star Wars: The High Republic Reveals Several New Jedi Characters

Star Wars

While the Star Wars Skywalker Saga traversed multiple generations in the universe from Anakin as a child to Rey and her friends, there is still plenty of room for growth and expansion within the franchise. Soon, the series will make a major jump back into the past in Star Wars: The High Republic, going 200 years prior to the events of The Phantom Menace. Now, fans have caught their first glimpse of what the Jedi of the High Republic era will look like.

A new blog post on the official Star Wars website gives an inside look at the Jedi Masters and Jedi Knights of the High Republic era, with images as well as short descriptions of who these force-sensitive beings are. While a majority of the featured characters are human there is a Male Twilek as well as a Mirialan. Each of these characters has varying degrees of experience as Jedi as well as their own very distinct personalities, but they’re no doubt the “good guys” as Michael Siglain explains in the post.

Writer Cavan Scott goes further into detail explaining that whether they’re at a point where they’re able to step into a leadership role, finding their place within the order, or something else entirely, each and every one of these new Jedi will be unique. “They are all different, approaching the Force in individual and unique ways and yet are united with a common goal,” Scott said. “They serve not out of unwavering dogma, but a deep passion to protect light and life. And they’re all at different stages in their individual journeys. Some have experience on their side, some have the exuberance of youth. Some are still finding their place in the Order while others step naturally into leadership roles. Some may not have chosen to work with the Jedi they’ve been posted alongside, but all are dedicated to be a guiding light for the galaxy.”

Individually they are strong, together they are invincible, but like the best heroes they each have lessons to learn and challenges to overcome. Exciting times lie ahead.”

It’ll be interesting to see just how different these new Star Wars characters will be compared to those fans know and love. Are you ready for the new era of the Star Wars franchise?
