Unannounced Star Wars Game Image Leaks On PlayStation Network

While the past few years have been saturated with Star Wars film and television content, the gaming space has been somewhat less populated than previous years. While the Battlefront games and the recent Jedi: Fallen Order game have been successes for EA, the reported cancellation of three major Star Wars games has left the franchise somewhat vacant for game titles. EA has suggested that multiple new projects are still in the works, and now it seems that one of these may have leaked. A mysterious unannounced Star Wars game appears to have surfaced on the European PlayStation Network.

As reported on Prima Games, the European PlayStation Network recently released an image that would indicate it is for a new unannounced Star Wars game. The image displays in dead center a logo with the title Star Wars: Project Maverick. It’s possible that this may be a code name for a new game, rather than the official final title. Others have theorized that this could be a promo image for new Jedi: Fallen Order content, such as a DLC pack.

The only other information that this image provides is a shot of X-wings flying toward a Star Destroyer on what appears to be a lava planet, presumably Mustafar. This game seems like it might be a starfighter-focused game like Rogue Squadron, but at this point, it would only be conjecture. Still, whatever this game ends up being, hopefully it brings some joy to Star Wars fans looking for more adventures in the digital world. This is the way, after all.
