Wonder Woman Game Announced By Middle-Earth Shadow of War Devs (VIDEO)

Wonder Woman Game

DC Comics have extended their presence well beyond their original medium into other entertainment forms. This has especially been true in the world of video games, from the DC games on the Super Nintendo to the recent successes with the Batman Arkham games and the Injustice series. With many modern superhero games focusing on a single hero like Spider-Man or Batman, it has been quite rare to see a female superhero gain the spotlight in a game, especially DC’s iconic original female hero. Now, thankfully, a new Wonder Woman game is in the works by a talented Warner Bros. team.

Warner Bros. Games has released the Wonder Woman game announcement trailer on their official YouTube channel, after it made its debut on The Game Awards 2021. The trailer is brief, but features an Amazonian woman providing narration, over close-up shots of Princess Diana’s armor and lasso of truth. The following comments on the game is given in the description for the video:

The single player open-world action game will introduce an original story set in the DC Universe and allow players to become Diana of Themyscira in the fight to unite her Amazon family and the humans from the modern world.”

The description for the Wonder Woman game announcement trailer confirms that the game will be developed by Monolith Productions, the studio behind Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. That game is well known for its use of Warner Bros.‘s original Nemesis System, and it has been confirmed to be an integral part of the new game. Wonder Woman will have dynamic relationships, not only with her friends, but her enemies as well. Little else is known about the game yet, but DC’s games in recent years have had a decent track record, as have Monolith Productions. Now that’s going to be a winning combination, like Wonder Woman and her invisible jet.
