The Witcher 3 Devs Discuss The Game’s Hilarious Concealment Kit
This past week, Polish publisher CD Projekt RED has been celebrating the 11th anniversary of its Witcher series with “11 Witcher facts for 11 years of The Witcher.” The facts have ranged from interesting game tidbits to intriguing concept art, the latest of which is one of the former, for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Fans that are familiar with Wild Hunt know that Geralt of Rivia has access to numerous armaments, along with a few cosmetic items as well. According to the developer, there are two unique cosmetic items that previously could not be worn at the same time, until it was made possible through the game’s Hearts of Stone expansion.
“Hearts of Stone introduces two vanity items for Geralt,” the Instagram post begins. “One of them is The Professor’s spectacles bought at Borsodi’s auction house during the Open Sesame! quest. The other — Ass ears — can be received if Geralt loses the game of Gwent with halflings at the wedding reception during Dead Man’s Party. Very late in production we realized that Geralt should be able to wear both of these items simultaneously. This is why, after you finish both quests, you can go to the circus troupe camp to find a crafting recipe for Concealment kit, combine the spectacles and ears into one item and let Geralt conceal his true identity.”
While the above information certainly isn’t groundbreaking, it is still interesting to see how committed the studio was to giving fans a fantastic, immensely in-depth experience in the form of The Witcher 3, complete with hilarious cosmetic item combinations. Unfortunately the studio’s focus is now on Cyberpunk 2077, though at least we have the upcoming Netflix TV adaptation to look forward to.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
