The Wild Eternal Launch Trailer Reveals the Trials of Escaping Death and Reincarnation (VIDEO)

Some people welcome the idea of death with open arms or indifference while others hope to evade it for as long as possible, clinging onto the life that has been curated by their own hands as well as the people around them. In The Wild Eternal, Ilsanjo takes players through a mystical, thoughtful, and philosophical journey of a first-person “exploration game” filled with puzzles. It takes place in the early 17th century, allowing players to assume the role of an old woman by the name of Ananta. Even in her effort to live through and endure a life of pain and suffering, reincarnation is the last thing she longs for. In an effort to rebel against the cycle of life and death, Ananta seeks the answers for eternal rest in the world of the Wild Eternal. Though it isn’t an action-packed game, this isn’t as easy as walking through a foggy world to find the answers. Take a look at the trailer below:

You are an old woman named Ananta who has fled a life of suffering to search for lasting peace in the Himalayan wild. After a traumatic life, you long to escape the cycle of reincarnation so that you may finally rest in peace. Your defiance of reincarnation has landed you in a lush, deserted wilderness covered in fog. A fox-shaped demigod agrees to help you escape your fate, but only if you’ll help him in return.

Explore the mystical wilderness together as you embark on a meditative adventure to heal the scars of your past in hopes of avoiding an eternity of suffering.

Aside from the main character’s personal journey, developing studio Ilsanjo hopes that the title will give players a chance to reflect on their personal beliefs as they play and explore. Of course, as with any puzzle and walking simulator game, there are many obstacles placed within the game to purposefully lead Ananta astray. The journey doesn’t start off easily, seeing as she is a senior. As Ananta travels further and discovers more within the beautifully crafted environment, she will uncover shrines that can give her different skills and strengths – such as the ability to jump, slide down steep cliffs without getting hurt, and other blessings.

The Wild Eternal is available via Steam at a sale price of $14.99 until April 20th, 2017. After that, it will revert back to the original price of $19.99. What do you think of the game?
