Watch Dogs Legion Online Is Getting Cross-Play And Cross-Gen Functionality

Watch Dogs Legion Online

The video game industry has many major games with extensive online networks that give player bases huge worlds to explore and adventures to be had. Thanks to features like cross-play and cross-gen functionality, online games like Rocket League and Fortnite are able to unite massive gaming audiences. One major title that has occupied the time of gamers on current-gen and previous-gen consoles is Watch Dogs Legion, especially with its Watch Dogs Legion Online gameplay mode that extends the game’s story. While the game does not have cross-gen and cross-play functionality now, it appears this will be coming in the future.

Ubisoft recently responded to a fan tweet requesting cross-play and cross-gen functionality to Watch Dogs Legion with its official Watch Dogs Twitter account. The tweet acknowledges that while cross-gen and cross-play functionality is not currently available for Watch Dogs Legion Online, the features are apparently in the works for the game and will be made available at a later date. No specific date is given for this functionality, but it would be reasonable to assume that the features would come sometime later this year.

Watch Dogs Legion Online

Currently, Watch Dogs Legion Online is available for play on Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with a version for PC releasing at a later date. For now, players on these platforms are limited to only playing with other online players sharing the same platform, not even across generations of the same console family. While fans will have to be patient, it’s great to know that Ubisoft is doing everything they can to connect all of their players together online. Now that’s a life-hack worth keying into.
