Outriders Joins Xbox Game Pass On Day One Of Release

Outriders

Well, it’s official! After heavily teasing another “leaked” memo from Melissa McGamepass, People Can Fly’s upcoming sci-fi co-op RPG Outriders is now officially confirmed to be heading the way of Xbox Game Pass. The news came by way of a new Xbox Wire post, revealing Outriders would be available for the console and cloud versions of the subscription service on day one of the game’s launch. As the title releases April 1st, Microsoft assured this was not n April Fool’s joke.

This news is great for those interested in picking up Outriders, as it grants the means to explore the epic space adventure for the simple cost of Xbox Game Pass membership. Microsoft has been going all-in on the service as of late, with the company now offering 20 Bethesda games as well as over 200 other titles on the console side of Game Pass alone. In addition to a large library and store discounts, the platform has expanded to include a PC-centered variant, cloud-based gaming, third-party services like EA Play, as well as the all-in-one Game Pass Ultimate option.

As for Outriders itself, the game follows a power-enhanced player character, known as an Outrider, and sets them on an adventure across the hostile alien planet of Enoch to discover the source of the chaotic world’s destruction. Featuring dual co-op/single-player modes and a sci-fi exploration element, the game earns fair comparisons to games like Mass Effect and Destiny, with a wealth of planned post-launch content as well as a free playable demo available for fans to try out ahead of time.

Outriders releases for PC, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on April 1st.
