Warframe Adds A Guitar-Shredding Mini-Game (VIDEO)

When Warframe released its harmonious ‘Octavia’ Warframe and its accompanying Somachord instrument, most Space Ninjas figured that that was as far as developer Digital Extremes was willing to delve into the world of music-making for its free-to-play shooter. Boy, were they wrong. With the arrival of the brand new Saint of Altra update comes a brand new Warframe, loads of new weapons and cosmetics, and more. Perhaps most importantly, though, is the addition of the guitar-like Shawzin, which unlocks a mini-game that lets players rock out with Guitar Hero-style gameplay.

Obtaining a Shawzin for yourself is a fairly simple feat. Players need only hop onto the in-game Market and snag the Shawzin Emote, which is a bonus for owning the Shawzin Decoration. From there, players can then create their own melodies or snag some fan-made covers of popular songs online. It’s a great big beautiful world, and if you aren’t playing Darude Sandstorm on a Shawzin as a Space Ninja, you may be doing it wrong. Check out an example of one of the covers below:

For those curious about the rest of the update, Saint of Altra also brings with it loads of new Disruption Mode missions, as well as a brand new armor set for Harrow. Additionally, players can now show off their Warframe builds and ‘Fashionframe’ choices with the new Look Link and Mod Link options. More details about the Saint of Alta update can be found right here.

Warframe is now free to play for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
