Troy Baker Responds To Gearbox’s Borderlands 3 Statement Regarding Rhys

Borderlands 3 Rhys Troy Baker Response

The tennis match that has been going on between Troy Baker and Gearbox continues on, as the Rhys voice actor has responded to the recent statement by Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford. According to Baker, Pitchford’s remarks about him turning down the opportunity to return as Rhys in Borderlands 3 aren’t exactly factual.

Speaking with Only SP, Baker stated reiterated that he was not approached about returning to the role. “I said I would love to come back,” he said. “They [Gearbox Software] said I’m not coming back.” He then went on to say how what is being said by Gearbox about the situation is definitely a bit odd. “Their timeline tells an interesting story,” he stated.

I think it’s interesting that Randy Pitchford tweeted out that I turned it down, and then he said he heard that I turned it down. I would fact check before I tweeted out to the internet.”

This is definitely another blow in the entire ordeal, one which fans are surely taking sides in. Pitchford, in his recent statement, said that it might not matter much if Baker were to return in Borderlands 3, implying that Rhys doesn’t have a significant role in the game. Either way, it would have been nice to see Baker make his return to Rhys.

Borderlands 3 is set to arrive on September 13th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
